Our upcoming public auction will be held in conjunction with the BNAPEX+2008+NOVAPEX stamp show on August 29 to 31, at the Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This is the annual convention of the British North America Philatelic Society hosted by the BNAPS Atlantic Regional Group and the Nova Scotia Stamp Club. This sale starts with some selected Worldwide and British Commonwealth single lots and collections. British North America is particularly interesting and extensive, focusing on Newfoundland with material we have not seen in many years. Rare proofs, trade samples, impressive multiples, top-quality singles, varieties, a strong display of postal stationery lots and a broken down specialized collection of the 1932-1937 Resources issue concludes the BNA section. Canada is well covered from early Pence to Back-of-Book, with many impressive lots to be seen, such as the 1897 Diamond Jubilee complete set of sixteen large die proofs; the 1897-1898 Queen Victoria “Leaf” complete set of eight large die proofs; rare plate multiples, a valuable and comprehensive selection of modern errors, and worthwhile large lots and collections.
