Welcome to our October 6th Mail Sale.

After a very wet summer last year, this summer has really evened the books. As we move to the cooler fall weather with its striking colours, we can reflect upon a warm, dry summer which had very few of those really hot, humid days. Maritimers often complain about the weather – but not this summer. Our seventh and next to last mail sale of 2010 closes on Oct. 6 – just before the Canadian Thanksgiving/American Columbus Day holiday weekend – and offers some unusual and interesting material.

Canada and Provinces is especially strong in this auction. Collectors of Semi-official Airmails will want to take note of lots 2704 – 2764 as well as the singles earlier in the catalogue. Early booklets are well represented and there is an impressive plate block section. We note that many of our customers express difficulty finding quality plate blocks. Variety collectors will appreciate lots 2115 and 2374 – the Cartier wide gutter strip and the used pair showing the missing ‘G’. Fancy Cancels are impressive; don’t miss lots 1683, 1702 and 2651 to 2662. Collector interest in this area is steadily increasing; you don’t want to miss this opportunity.

British Commonwealth continues to be an area in strong demand. Within the Large Lot section - #4764 to #5200, collectors will find many cover lots. We have been busy describing 100s of covers to help satisfy the growing interest in world wide Postal History. Please enjoy scanning the pages showing our most recent efforts.
